Fun fact: the Japanese voice actor for Inosuke is also the Japanese voice actor for Kirito. Fun fact 2: the English voice actor for Inosuke is also the English voice actor for Kirito.

Unfortunately, Boruto does something similar. They released a Boruto movie and 2 years later the Boruto series starts with season 3 being like a weird edited version of the movie. If you ever watch Boruto, I highly recommend watching it the released order and skipping the movie arc.
