From MHA author Kohei Horikoshi himself, “I always wanted to include a chapter about All Might’s past, or rather, I thought that I definitely need to write about his past. In the movie, the young All Might is shown studying abroad in America, and I thought this might not be something that could be brought up anymore in the actual manga story up until now, so I saw the movie as a chance to present this.”

“Of course, without a doubt, the movie and manga are adjoined, and the movie is connected to the manga story that happens after it.”

So the movie is 100% cannon, however the characters don’t talk about it because it was written retroactively
I don't think it matters if the movie is canon guys, asking as she liked the movie we shouldn't complain, also that gave us 3 longer reactions so personally I don't care

Yikes someone doesn't read the manga it's brought up making it CANON
"But what about the movie..." This is EXACTLY why I didn't want you to watch the movie before Season 3. It opens a massive plot hole at this point in the story. Just for now Suzy, pretend the movie never happened because it isn't canon to the story. The only takeaway from the movie that you should try and remember is that Melissa and David Shield exist and that they are friends with All Might. The rest of it never happened.
Heroes Rising is hype, but it has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the main story. It's even less canon than Two Heroes is. So if she watches it, she needs to understand that. It's an alternate ending to the story. One that no longer applies to the plot of the series.
Are any anime movies fully canon? Counting Heroes Rising I have only watched five anime movies, only SAO Ordinal Scale rises to "must see' level, even then that is more quality over canon.
The Demon Slayer movie is basically the entire second season summed up quickly in a single movie, it's based on the manga like Season 1 is. But other than it and Ordinal Scale (which is one of my favorite anime movies) I can't think of any other movies that are must watches.
