are you kidding me. Fillers in Naruto are probably the worst I have ever seen in any anime period. That being said, I am not in no way anti-filler and i do not like people that state to skip all the fillers because some filler is great in some series, like Inuyasha for example or Rurouni Kenshin or bleach is actually pretty interesting. But naruto filler is just straight terrible in mostly all aspects but there are some arcs that were not as bad. Still regardless the filler especially in the war just needs to be skipped. There is just no logical reasoning for watching that crap because all it really manages to do is hinder the canon story and the pacing is all over the place due to those fillers.

You definitely won't see this but filler means it's not Canon to the show. Which means it doesn't contribute to the plot because it didn't happen in the Manga. It's not that anyone wanted the show to be over quicker, it's that they were only interested in seeing the actual plot. The Canon material.

second part of filler arc with the teacher and his students was great too.
i had teary eyes at some moments. i had a good time rewatching the fillers.

Ok let me clarify a few things that I think people are missing. The next arc called the Ambu black ops arc actually isn't really filler in a sence, its just filler adjacent to the manga. There were some things that Kishimoto was not able to put in his manga but wanted to. This was as far back as OG naruto, kishimoto expressed that he wanted to dive into more backstory behind the AMBU unit. He did not clarify what characters would be present or what the focus was, but he mentioned that there some things he wanted to tell that he has not been able to. Later on the studio decided to expand upon this idea and these are stories that the author approved as canon material. This arc is one such arc. So its hard to determine if this is truly filler or not since the conceptial idea for it came from the author.
