It really says something about both Naruto and Hinata, that to this point she is the only person that he would drop his bravado and admit his insecurities to. He doesn't know her very well yet, and is certainly blind to how she feels about him - but he already trusts her and is comfortable letting her inside his shell, if only a little bit.
