Well I am glad my girlfriend and I are in our 30s and still love it reading all the manga (mun-ga is our you pronounce it) to each it's own. I think denji is misunderstood coming from nothing he doesn't know what to do really and how normal people should act and strive for. everyone expects him to think like everyone else does when he didn't have even school to guide him or parents to learn.

I agree with KellyMooMoo. There are layers to his situation. Denji is fairly intelligent, but he is, staggeringly, ignorant. He has lived most of his life in isolation, only dreaming of what others have. He doesn't understand what a relationship really is and doesn't, really, believe that any woman would ever want him. But beyond that, he has made a, binding, pact with his little chainsaw devil dog. Pochita gave him his heart, and in return he is tasked with showing him his dreams, which is why he is driven so hard to accomplish them. You notice, when he touched Makima's chest he clutched his heart and fell back. I believe that that was in reaction to part of his dream come true. And you notice that he started talking in third person for a bit, after that. I think that, at that moment, it was Pochita talking, and that he woke up, as Denji made his first big step to showing him his dreams being realized.
However, that is my, personal, hypothesis, having never read the manga. But I really love seeing your reactions and have followed you through a few series./ Please keep it up, and don't be dissuaded by people who leave negative comments that aren't warranted. Stay true.

I feel like you don’t cut Denji enough slack. You kinda just see him as an annoying, immature, and horny teenager. Which is fair cause he is that. However, if you look deeper I feel that he’s a guy that loves life so much that it doesn’t take much to please him. Everybody else usually hates life because they’re so focused on the things they don’t have in life. Whereas Denji doesn’t care about material things because all he needs to be happy is a good meal, a nice bed to sleep in and boobs. Which I can appreciate cause it’s different from what we typically get from other anime characters like Aki, Sasuke or Tanjiro who all pretty much have the same backstory. (Family murdered and wants revenge). Either way I still love your reactions and love how you’re not afraid to express your opinion even if it pisses people off. I do hope the show grows on you and u start to love it more cause I kinda felt the same way you did in the beginning. Now I’m intrigued and can’t wait to see where the story goes next.
