Loved your reaction to this episode. Please don't watch s2 of this anime. The first season is really good but in the second season they tried to go anime original and they horribly failed. In the second season they condensed 130+ chapters into 11 episodes. They left out the best arc of the series, the arc that every manga reader was waiting for since they announced s2. They left out 15+ new characters and out of that 15+ multiple characters were fan favorites. They also left off important plot points that should have been included even if they went original with it because it has a lot to do with how the world of TPN works.
TPN has the worst second season of all anime for me, the only one that comes close to it is Tokyo Ghoul s2.

Cloverworks ruined the promised neverland, gave much less budget to the second season and rushed the adaptation for one reason: Shadows House. They were eager to release that one and gave it all the money, when TPN ended, that was the one that replaced this show at the same hours, the bright side is that we lost TPN, but shadows house is magnificent and pretty similar in terms of the misterious tone
