IMO that's perfect for you. since the next piece of media from SAO after the next season is the progressive movie we won't get another season for a while because the arc after the Alicization arc is currently still running in the LN and clearly the production like with Alicization is waiting for the arc to finish before adapting it and even if this is a really bad time to make a pause(considering the abrupt ending of S3) it may be a great point in time for you to make a pause with SAO and do other stuff and that will keep your content fresh and fun for other people who may not like SAO or AOT
