Project Alicization - Sword Art Online S3 Episode 6 Reaction

Comments

Sorry I was gone for a long time after the typhoon things got crazier. I'll start making info and reaction tomorrow. I'll do episode 5 first
I subbed to her VIP just to watch the new SAO content and I gotta say, it’s not worth it. She doesn’t keep up with her SAO schedule ever! Not in any season so far. I understand the baby coming and that’s totally fine, but out of a potential 8 episodes this month, we have had 3. Is it worth the VIP price for half the content?

Thanks for the heads up. Agree. For paying subscribers, I think it fair to expect a certain level of content and schedule.
It's not so much that SAO is pushing that it's better to live online, but rather that the real world and the virtual world are both reality. That even though the worlds they visit with the FullDive systems are inherently videogames, what happens in them isn't just seperate from what's real.

SAO had thousands of people forced to live a new world for two years until Kirito cleared it, ALO had Kirito and Leafa eventually mend their familial relationship along with saving Asuna and countless others from being mind controlled, GGO had the Death Gun incident that dealt with the effects of people finding more of their reality online than offline in a twisted manner, Ordinal Scale was the attempts to restore the life of a victim of SAO, and you'll see what's up with Project Alicization.

Also, it's important to note that Kirito is basically in a much more dangerous situation compared to SAO, since as Ep 4 revealed, he feels the pain inflicted on him, and the very obvious danger of him being logged out too early...
Suzy I don't think this series is meant to say that the virtual world is bad or good, I think it's just to get someone to start thinking about how technology changes our lives in general. It asks the question, does the experiences you have online count as real experiences?
If you haven't already, you're pretty safe now to watch the opening with or after the next episode. There are a few shots of characters not seen yet, but if you wait for them to show up, the opening will change before then.
You shouldn't use the manga as source because the manga isn't canon. At the very least, the anime follows the light novels, not the manga. Kirito didn't die in the light novels, so he wouldn't have died in the anime.

The scene in the ambulance where his heart stops for a moment is in the light novels. I think the manga adaptation is a pretty faithful one but it's still behind (didn't even reach the second half of alicization). But yeah, the light novels are the best source for more information about what's happening.

Today is 20 November, 2020
It will be available either later today, or tomorrow.
Be a bit more patient or buy the VIP.
We don't want to loose our regular uploads because of someone being impatient.
It is at-least up, so there is hope. Unlike until yesterday when there was no upload at all. :)

Suzy, The mangas are adaptations of the original novels so the anime didn't omit anything.
In the words of Seto Kaiba, "for too long we've been forced to live in just this reality. It's tedious, poorly designed, and pathetically constructed. If the one responsible were in my employ, I'd have them fired! I knew that I could do better."

The next 4 episodes are probably my favorite ones of this show. Can't wait for her reaction on episode 10 :D
