This backstory placement was so perfect in this episode. When it went back to the present and I saw Renji standing there covered in blood, my heart was moved knowing everything he and Rukia had been through.

One really emotional anime! I remember when I watched this episode for the first time oh I remembeeeeer! Nostalgiaaaa... yeah the yeart was 2019... I didn't wathced it when it first came buut... for me it is still a nostalgia... from my life back then... I remember listening to Renji... oh... in this episode... I really liked Ranji... so much from that episode.
