I think you overestimate the adult characters in this series sometimes. The Shippuden characters are strong but they are not invincible and they can make mistakes!

Except for Naruto and Sasuke. They're both literally near-godlike. If he so chose, Naruto could have Sasuke use his Rinnegan to port a Shadow Clone to Mitsuke's general area. Shadow Clone goes sage mode. Senses Mitsuke. Goes to him. Handles situation because lol sage mode + kurama cloak = nobody is touching him.
