Yeah. The point of Danzo is to show that he'll do whatever means necessary to protect the village no matter how corrupt it is. You don't have to like him, I still don't. But it's best to acknowledge that he just wanted what he thought was best for the village.
I love Sasuke’s character, definitely my favourite. He stopped caring about his team mates after the killer bee fight. Any time Sasuke uses the power of friendship it never works out for him which is one of the reasons he’s not keen on friendship. The slight glimmer during the killer bee fight where he thought about Taka as potentially a new family was immediately cut short after he took such a serious beating against bee. He would’ve died if not for the team and that’s the issue. Team work stifles Sasuke, any time he chooses to descend further into the darkness he gets stronger so the bee fight was a wake up call to him to not forget that friendship only makes one weaker
How does going against your brothers wishes make you evil... if your brother set a path for your entire life and people told you, you had no choice but to follow it or else you're evil... you would tell them fuck you and live your life how you see fit... like I'm sure you're doing now... if a group of people killed your entire family would you just go about living life like nothing happened... sorry but I'm doing what sasuke is doing and I'm burning everything down.
When someone ask me what is my favourite hokage? a lot of poeple say Minato or Hashirama but my favourite one was Sarutobi, im sry but i thinik he was a wonderfull hokage. The mythical old one that teach everyone and i just love sarutobi. Other thing, when you think about Danzo you hate him ofc he did too many things bad things in his history but all of them were to protect the village from the shadow. Like Danzo for the hard things from the darkness and shadows and Sarutobi with his peace. I just love this show, nice reaction tho! <3

Danzo was as necessary as Hiruzen or pretty much every other Hokage to keep the peace in the Leaf.

Danzo the anti-villain, and whats so interesting about this fight, is that all that he says is true, Sasuke doesnt care about Itachi's will or sacrifice, he just wants to destroy everything, and people have to remember, Sasuke wants to destroy the village, while Danzo wants to protect it, Danzo does what he does to protect the village at any cost, while Sasuke only seeks destruction and is consumed by rage and hatred.
Like Danzo said, he is wasting his brother's and the clan's sacrifice, the real villain here was Sasuke, not Danzo.

I disagree that Danzo wanted to protect the village. If that were the case, he would have participated in the fight against Pain and help protect the village in the attack.. Instead he didn’t lift a finger to help even 1 person and went to hide underground, and waited until everything and everybody was destroyed, then he planned to take over as Hokage. He has done so many selfish acts so he can remain in power. With all his talk to protect the village, he has always only cared about Danzo above all else.
