Hello, everyone and Suzy! I'm from Brazil and I always see your reactions from Naruto since the episodes of Lord Orochi's fight with the Third Hokage.
My opinion is very direct and straight: Danzo is the biggest genocide, self-centered and greedy of the anime:
-he made Kabuto kill Nono, his mother and turn evil and later, be one of the great enemies in the War, bringing Madara and others from beyond;
-made Hanzo make Yahiko kill himself just to win the position of Hokage, turning Nagato into a villain and creating Akatsuki of Evil, handled by Obito; - performed tests with Orochimaru with numerous Sharingans stolen from the Uchihas and transplanted them, along with Hashirama cells, in his body;
-manipulated Yamato;
-did not help to contain the Kyuubi Attack to purposely make Minato die;
-accused the Uchiha of treason for causing the Kyuubi attack and isolated them under strict surveillance on the outskirts of the village. So, they tried to carry out the Coup d'etat, and later, to make Itachi's life hell;
-tried to kill Hiruzen;
-prevented Shisui from stopping the blow with Genjutsu Kotoamatsukami, stealing his eye, making him kill himself and giving Itachi the remaining eye. If I didn't do that, the Uchihas might still be alive;
-made Sai and his brother try to kill themselves.
But all of this would have been avoided if the worst Hokage in administration, the Third, arrested, killed, etc. him. But he is too soft.

Before you get too mad at the Third he actually did as much as he could to make peace with the Uchiha Shisui was trying to use his mangekyou to put all the Uchiha under genjutsu that would’ve made it so they would want to protect the hidden leaf wether that would’ve been a better a solution or not we will never know Shisui made the mistake of explaining that plan to Danzo who ended up taking Shisui’s eye and tried to kill him
It explained a looooong time ago that he loved the Leaf more than anything except Sasuke was the one thing he loved more that he witnessed the third great ninja war at a young age and he knew the Uchiha rebellion would have caused the fourth ninja war much sooner and that was the last thing he ever wanted so yes he chose the village over his clan
And you do know that Naruto was already born at this point and of course was the jinchuriki so killing Naruto would’ve been the only way for Fugaku to control the nine tails also this is exactly why the Uchiha was ordered to stay away from the nine tails when Obito attacked the village Danzo figured they might try to control the nine tails to take over the village Naruto was probably made 4-5 at the time so Danzo was right but perhaps wrong about the timing
But things were somewhat similar in say the Hyuuga clan too you had the side branch which was there solely to protect and serve the main branch even putting curse marks to control them and to kill them to destroy the byakugan to keep it from falling into enemy hands Hinata was originally supposed to be the next head of the Hyuuga clan but was seen as weak by Hiashi her father gave up on training her personally and started training her younger sister to take her place as head of the Hyuuga even though that’s technically Hinata’s birthright since she’s the older sibling so you could easily compare Hiashi and Fugaku who both put their respective clans first although at this point Fugaku is concerned with the strength of the clan because of the plan for the plan to overthrow the hidden Leaf
Really there’s a lot that could have changed the circumstances of Itachi’s life it wasn’t just the Uchiha clan there was a lot of things around the Uchiha that contributed to that if certain things had been handed better in the past the Uchiha clan wouldn’t have been like that things could have been so much better for the Uchiha and the Leaf Village as well if certain things had gone very differently you’re only focusing on one factor yes him being a part of the Uchiha clan was a major factor to what happened to Itachi but it’s also things that happened in the past and lots of things that were happening within the leaf village during that time especially the nine tails attack on the Leaf played a major part on how the Uchiha acted afterwards you’ll see later that the Uchiha definitely were not trusted by the Village and it wasn’t just Danzo and the elders
You really don’t understand one thing is that most Uchiha have actually gone through similar experience as Itachi when they awoke their sharingan obviously most handle it differently and most aren’t deep thinkers like Itachi or Shisui but they do have some understanding of Itachi’s pain having gone through similar experiences especially Fugaku because of a certain secret he has
The other clan members had to know how to obtain the mangekyou sharingan yes Itachi loved Shisui but other Uchiha clan members would probably use that relationship to gain more power and it’s like they said someone with the power of sharingan could easily write a fake suicide note in someone else’s handwriting
Well you kinda have to look at Fugaku’s perspective yes he’s Itachi’s father but he’s also the head of the clan and Itachi would be next in line to lead the clan so he probably does have an idea about Itachi’s suffering but has to focus on the fact that while tragic his son getting stronger is good for the clan as a whole you just can’t forget that every member of the Uchiha clan who has awakened the sharingan has had a similar experience that Itachi had unfortunately they’ve had to just accept it and move on that’s part of what makes Itachi so different he doesn’t quite just move on he dwells on those feelings and he thinks about how he may change things for the better
