Episode 2 Reaction
╚══════════╝
Sorry, it took me days just to finish this. Hopefully, I can finish the latest by the time you uploaded episode 5. I also change my format for easier reading. As usual no spoilers.

「 Intro」
Time: (00:28 - 01:13)
➤ Suzy: “We found out about this new gear that allows your mind, okay let me try to get this right because I'm probably way off you guys will correct me which is fine. Something to do with like (Sorry I can't hear this part. Was it "the game is in"?) their mind? But when they wake up they have no recollection whatsoever what they're even playing. Weird. Really, really weird. Something about being based(?) as well like Alice is based on Alice in Wonderland and Alice was taken away from us because she just touch the dark side. It was really intense. But when Kirito woke up from all of this, he had no recollection and he was crying but he wouldn't know why he was crying.”
➤ Reply: I'm not sure if I heard it correctly. My apologies. I'll answer this based on what I think you said. First of all, it's not a game this is different from what we have seen so far (season 1 & 2) it will be explained within a few episodes. Yes, unlike the previews the Soul Translator connects to human Fluctlight which is the consciousness, the soul.

I didn't hear one word in the next one my apologies again. Storywise Alice is not based on Alice in Wonderland but her design and name are inspired by Alice in Wonderland by the author of Sword Art Online, Reki Kahawara. The Alicization has some references to Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland. Like the Underworld, Alice's name, and some other that wasn't shown yet. While the Underworld and some others are based on Alice in Wonderland storywise.

There's a reason why there's a Taboo Index and why they've taken Alice away just by touching the soil of the Dark Territory.

「 Episode 2」

Time: (03:29 - 03:37)
➤ Suzy: “Something has happened in the real world because he was injected they forced him to dive. Why? Because he was dying?”
➤ Reply: In just a few more episodes it will be explained.

Time: (03:55 - 04:06)
➤ Suzy: “It was a banger guys, it was a bang when that chorus hit it just felt chills all over my body and I was like yeaaah!!”
➤ Reply: I'm glad you like the opening! I knew you would like it. Sword Art Online opening always gets you. And the opening was sung by Lisa.

Time: (04:10 - 04:19)
➤ Suzy: “That's the tree, right? The tree from the first episode that they were trying to chop down.”
➤ Reply: Yes, the Gigas Cedar.

Time: (05:07 - 05:15)
➤ Suzy: “This is really weird, so this is like, he doesn't remember the whole Alice thing, the blond guy doesn't know who Kirito is.”
➤ Reply: Yes, Kirito doesn't remember who Eugeo or Alice is. The same goes with Eugeo, he doesn't remember Kirito. But Kirito vaguely remembers them the same goes with Eugeo that's why Eugeo was able to open up to Kirito without a problem because deep inside of them they share great bonds.

Time: (05:34 - 05:37)
➤ Suzy: “That's terrifying! What kind of a game is this? That's horrible!”
➤ Reply: It's a godly prank. That's how gods prank. Haha. Kidding.

Time: (05:52 - 05:54)
➤ Suzy: “What is that supposed to mean?”
➤ Reply: Kirito decided to use only safe terminology until he could ascertain just who or what is Eugeo. Because if it's a player with memory limitations that made him a resident of the Underworld or an NPC then it will be more difficult for Kirito to collect information if he started listing off a bunch of incomprehensible jargon about Soul Translator anomalies and logout methods to a human or NPC who is functioning as a resident of the Underworld.

Time: (06:05 - 06:07)
➤ Suzy: “He is totally an NPC!”
➤ Reply: Probable.

Time: (06:36 - 06:43)
➤ Suzy: “Okay, now I'm changing my mind as to whether he is an NPC or if he's a regular boy.”
➤ Reply: Haha, I knew you'd change your mind after that. XD

Time: (07:02 - 07:13)
➤ Suzy: “Okay, so Kirito does kind have the memories but it's kinda confusing because I remember them saying like when they leave the game everything is left behind.”
➤ Reply: That's right, Kirito shouted to abort the dive. He thinks there's a problem with his dive because his memories of reality weren't blocked.

Time: (07:50 - 07:56)
➤ Suzy: “Just say yes! Be like teach me everything so I can get out of this place. Please.”
➤ Reply: Yeah that would be easy but the answer is the same as “What is that supposed to mean?”. Kirito decided to use only safe terminology until he could ascertain just who or what is Eugeo.

Time: (08:42 - 08:45)
➤ Suzy: “How long have you been on this game, buddy!”
➤ Reply: 6 years, no, but his whole life, 17 years.

Time: (08:54 - 09:04)
➤ Suzy: “See! I thought he look older even Kirito looks older than the first episode than this. So how much time has passed? Like in real life, how much time has passed.”
➤ Reply: I'm not sure how to answer this whether to answer it, answer it vaguely, or won't answer. Weirdly, I'm having thoughts here. Kirito thinks that the Fluctlight Acceleration is 1000x based on the sum of information he gathered. So, if what Kirito said is true, then 1000x Fluctlight Acceleration in one day in the Underworld is merely one minute and forty seconds in the real-world.

Time: (10:03 - 10:21)
➤ Suzy: “So, time moves faster in the game than it does in real life. But he's been there, for years in the game which means he's been hooked up, for a very long time because he still has all of his memories so he has not left the game. Question: Why he has not left the game?”
➤ Reply: Yes, time moves faster in the game than in the real-world. That depends on how fast is the Fluctlight Acceleration. Your question, why he has not left the game, Kirito answered it at the end of the episode.

Time: (13:21 - 13:26)
➤ Suzy: “What happens when we eventually cut down the tree? What if we can never cut down the tree?”
➤ Reply: If a person manages to complete his Calling he may choose their next Calling. If he cannot finish it then that person will be stuck in their Calling until the time they pass it or die.

Time: (13:37 - 13:57)
➤ Suzy: “Well, that's it, like if you mess around someone will come and take you away and just kill you. Like what? That's terrifying! I guess everybody is just on their best behavior twenty-four seven but this still doesn't answer what happened to Kirito at the end of the last episode.”
➤ Reply: It is said that they never saw an Integrity Knight before, not even the elders, not even in 300 years of the Rulid Village. The only time the Integrity Knight has ever come is when Alice violated the Taboo Index. It means that people always follow the laws. They're not capable of breaking the laws. Alice is just special Eugeo said it. In the novel, young Eugeo asked the elder why don't they just leave the Gigas Cedar and go around it. The elder sternly informed him that cutting down the tree is the founders' deepest desire. Then young Kirito asked why did the founders bother starting the village where it was now but the elder became furious and boxing Kirito's ears before Eugeo. It's the same at the End Mountains when Alice, Eugeo, and Kirito went there they realise that they're the first to pass through the northern forest after Bercouli. As if they're like robots.

Time: (14:19 - 14:22)
➤ Suzy: “Oh, what's your Calling sir?”
➤ Reply: Men-at-arms. The dream of all boys. Even Eugeo wants this Calling.

Time: (17:00 - 17:02)
➤ Suzy: “My question is, how long he has been in this game?”
➤ Reply: If you're talking about Eugeo then like my previous answer, It's 17 years, since the time he was born.

Time: (17:43 - 17:47)
➤ Suzy: “And there is no logout button? Like, there's nothing?”
➤ Reply: No, there is none. The only menu is the Stacia Window. The Underworld is not a game and it's a realistic type of virtual reality. That's why he wants to contact the Rath employees in the Centoria.

Time: (17:48 - 17:55)
➤ Suzy: “Something bad has happened to Kirito and they had to shut him in this world, to keep him alive. That's what I believe.”
➤ Reply:

Time: (18:02 - 18:08)
➤ Suzy: “Whooo the heeeeell!? Who is that?”
➤ Reply: That face and how you said. An anime scene only. You'll meet her in the future.

「Outro 」
Time: (18:09 - 18:21)
➤ Suzy: “Honestly, the soundtrack to Sword Art is like some of my favourite, Naruto is good too but Death Note as(is?) well oh my God. But there's just something about on Sword Art music just wants to makes you wanna move.”
➤ Reply: It's only the beginning and there's still a lot more you still haven't heard yet. I'm sure you'll love them.

Time: (18:21 - 18:33)
➤ Suzy: “Okay, I'm assuming it's going to keep me in suspense for a very long time in regards to what has actually happened on that fateful night with Laughing Coffin and Kirito.”
➤ Reply: Not really. By the time I post this, you're almost there.

Suzy, you got a lot of rights, you're really good. Keep it up. I can't wait to watch episode 3 and 4. I love that you always ask questions. Enjoy the next episodes!

Stay cool Suzy.
EPISODE 2
Sorry, I'm so late too busy in real life but now I got free time. As usual no spoilers.

Black Hair
Black hair is uncommon in Norlangarth but it's common in the east, Eastabarieth. Eugeo thinks that Kirito is not from the north because of his hair colour.

Fluctlight Acceleration (FLA)
When Eugeo said the word 300 years, Kirito assumes that the Fluctlight Acceleration factor is over 1000x but he still wasn't sure if that is the case. He is worried if the Fluctlight Acceleration is slow because, for example, if it is 1x, spending 1 day in the Underworld would mean 1 day in real life. He'll be in big trouble.

Stacia Window
A basic form of Sacred Arts that shows the ID, current and maximum life values of the targeted object, as well as the item's priority class if the item is a weapon or Object Control and System Control Authorities if the target is a sentient being.

Calling
A custom that all children in the spring of their tenth year is given a Calling and entered into an apprenticeship for that job. Once the Calling is determined, not even the elder can revoke it. The only way to change it is to complete the work. If the Calling has ended and is completed, the person may choose their next Calling themselves. Some Callings can't be changed because there is no end to those jobs, for example, Shepherd or barley farmer. The Taboo Index forbade abandoning during workdays. Holding multiple Callings at once is also forbidden.

Gigas Cedar
The tree that already exists before the village of Rulid was founded. The Gigas Cedar can absorb the blessings of Solus (sunlight ) and Terraria (the mineral from the earth) allowing it to recover half of the wounds from the previous day by morning. Its toughness far surpasses the iron. Only higher priority level can cut the tree down such as the Dragonbone Axe or a Divine Object.

Sacred Tongue
A sacred language, English (some other languages), that Underworldian used to ask the gods for miracles and is not considered as having any special meaning by the average resident, except for those who study the language for Sacred Arts. The language is mostly used on chanting the verses for Sacred Arts. Stacia Window also has it. Some names are derived from this language like Integrity Knight, "System Alert", Kirito's Skills, Dark Territory, Gigas Cedar, etc. All Japanese words are considered common language while English is known as the Sacred Tongue.

Dragonbone Axe
A tool that is carved out of an ancient dragon bone. Dragon bone is the highest grade material in Underworld is only surpassed by Divine Object.

Pain
Kirito felt pain on his hands after his first attempt on the Gigas Cedar. In VRMMO like SAO and ALO, they have Pain Absorber that nullifies the pain when the player receives injuries.

Guards of the Village
Their only purpose is to protect the village from the forces of darkness. Once in a while some of the forces of darkness sneak in through the caves. This is Eugeo's dream he always wanted to become a swordsman.

Zink the Guard
This scene is anime only. This is when Kirito met Zink and Kirito uses Zink's sword to convince him that his Calling is a swordsman. In the novel, he wanted to borrow Zink's sword to see if the virtual swordsman Kirito's skills would function in the Underworld but Kirito resisted the urge.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
At first, Kirito is not sure if the people in the Underworld are test players with memories or without memories or an AI. After talking with Eugeo he thought that it's either tester or an NPC that is a pure resident of the realm with no concept of a virtual world. After he arrived at the Rulid Village and went to bed and replay the events that had transpired between entering the village up to his room, every one of them has realistic emotions, conversation and subtly unique body movements just like Eugeo. As far Kirito could tell they're all real people. Unlike normal NPC found in every VRMMO that has an automated response. He thinks that is impossible because there is not enough capacity to create an entire village not to mention factoring all the people living in the Human Empire. As far as Kirito knows, the highest-level AI is Yui. She monitored countless player conversations for two years, collecting a vast amount of detailed data and compiling it into a complex database. But even that Yui sometimes mischaracterized more complex emotional expression. His conclusion is the Artificial Fluctlight just like he said at the last part of the episode.

Realism
This scene was heavily cut in the anime where Kirito at first thinks it's real-world since he can't distinguish it from the real-world. He realised that he is wearing an odd outfit, a Middle Ages European garments which are usually used in fantasy games. He can not believe that this is a virtual reality because of how very detailed his body, clothes, trees, water, etc. He even snatches up a blade of grass and brings it before his eyes. But the very instant his eyes caught the blade of grass he can see the details without the slightest lag. It's the same with what humans perceive in the real world. It's too detailed that Kirito thinks that the blade of grass alone represents a few dozen megabytes of data. Kirito formulates a theory if it is a virtual world, real-world or true alternate reality. The first one is walking up in the forest is the stereotypical opening scene for fantasy games. But the problem is there is no supercomputer capable of generating an ultra-detailed 3D scenery. The second is he thinks he was a target of a crime, or illegal experiment, or vicious prank somewhere in Japan or southern hemisphere. The third and last is the true alternate dimension but this one is the least likely to happen, leaving the first and second option. And then remembers that he might be inside of the Soul Translator, the Underworld. He was able to confirm that he was in virtual reality when he saw Eugeo opening the Stacia Window. This is a very long scene but I have to cut a lot.

Stay cool Suzy.
Most of the information will be given to you in the later episodes. Things will be getting extremely hectic and crazy. Some episode you have to watch twice to understand them. Still love your video and reactions.
"If episode 1 is to go off of, I'm scared."

Talk about the understatement of the century.

Just to clarify some points :
- The new dive machine Kirito was testing reads the human soul and connects it to the vr world
- Forgetting what you live when you dive in isn't a side effect of the machine it's more a part of Kirito's "contract" with the company Rath to keep things secret
- The whole thing with Alice in Wonderland isn't that relevant, the only thing you need to keep in mind is that the name of the company "Rath" is inspired by a beast in "Alice in wonderland" that was a mixt between a turtle and a pig

I love seeing you theorizing and asking really interesting questions, your reaction is amazing as always!! And I think you will enjoy this season a lot!
There will be answers Suzy. And knowing how you've reacted in the past, I think you'll enjoy them. Maybe not all of them, but most of them.
Some points:
1. The whole Alice and Wonderland thing. I honestly forgot about that comment. It has no bearing on the rest of the series and even thinking of it makes the story make less sense.
2. The "forgetting" after playing is just a condition of Kirito doing the testing. in effect they are erasing or (locking away) his memories of the play time. Kinda like company secrets type of thing.
3. the "fluctlight" is supposedly the "soul" of a person and that is what is doing the "dive" in this system. If I understood it correctly.

I'm pretty certain none of this is spoilers. This season isn't too bad, next one is also good, third...........kinda jumps the shark.

You can see it, there are a lot of characters of SAO having the same face LOL

Suzy, can you make an "All Opening reaction" when you have finished the anime?
Man, that new intro to Sao is by far one of my all time anime favourites. Listen to it when I work on my animation stuff, it really helps!!
Wow it's so early. I'm not yet half of what I am doing because there are a lot of things in real life but by tommorow I can finish it. I can't wait to watch this episode.

Stay cool Suzy.

Its the soul not the mind not gonna say anything more so you can learn for yourself
ReemAJ, 23 Oct 2020 - 2:56pm
The STL is basically a gear that connects to your soul, the fact Kirito can't remember anything is due to Rath blocking his memories for a reason (not gonna say because obviously spoilers lol)
