Asta is actually really smart he you can notice when his voice is monotone you can hear his life experience and wisdom and he's just someone that goes with the flow and doesn't really care it's more obvious the more you watch it and for me every time I re watch black clover the better it gets

It’s not finished yet the anime is just on a hiatus but the manga is ongoing. There will be a movie from what I’ve seen coming in 2022 but no serious talk on the series returning yet.

The anime only ended at episode 170 because that episode is very close to where the manga is now, so the anime will most likely come back in a year or so, so the manga would have time to get further ahead, and there will be a black clover movie coming out eventually, so I'd imagine that the anime will probably come back at some point after the movie does.
