Rebirth - Death Note Episode 1 Reaction

I think my ONE problem with this episode is that Light should not have been able to kill the man who was attacking the woman. Per one of the death note's rules, there is only so many times you can miss-spell a person's name before it becomes ineffective for that person. In the scene where he's shown writing down the man's name, it looked like he'd tried loads of times to make sure he spelled the man's name right. Cause this was only his second time testing the note there shouldn't be a bunch of names in here. So, after his third attempt spelling the name, it shouldn't have worked unless he guessed correctly within those first few guesses. My memory might be wrong but i was pretty sure the rule was about three attempts. Its one of those random rules that appear on the screen halfway through, when if it were on tv a commercial would have happened.
In fact, in some languages it is said to cease to have an effect on the person if the name is misspelled four times.
However, in some other languages it is said that the notebook ceases to have an effect on the person if the name is misspelled INTENTIONALLY four times.
That is, the person has to be writing the wrong name on purpose to stop having an effect.
I don't know which of these versions is written in the original in Japanese, however, due to the number of times that Light wrote the name of the guy trying to get it right, probably the valid rule is that the wrong writing must be intentional to stop the effect of the Death Note on the person.
In other words, there was an error in the English translation. The languages who translated based on English, share the same error.
Those that translated directly from Japanese did not. (assumption)

Nah it's not a translation error, Light just lucked out and spelled it correctly the first time so the other times didn't count. If Light had intentionally misspelled his name, the series would have ended right then and there because if you intentionally misspell a name four times, it actually kills the owner of the Death Note.
I was waiting September to finally watch your reaction to one of favorite series of all time, of course i own the anime series and the 3 Japanese's live-action movies.I watched Death note in japanese and english. The voices in japanese are superior, BUT the english version is not that bad thought.
