PAIN makes complete sense.. enough with leaf pathetic village
Pain is a moron. Sure, he makes sense, though he is still idiotic in his ideals.

It is because pain does not breed strength. It breeds fear, and then, endless weakness. Why do you think people like Pain, even in the real world, are always destined to be defeated? You have endless dead dictators whose vision was a world embedded in pain, while only a few ever make it past such agonies, as Nature selects them, naturally.

To find peace, one must get their way past one's own strife. The only reason why Pain destroyed the Leaf Village, is because he wants to share his pain, share the agonies of his past, and never look at the future.

One does not find peace within pain. One finds peace when they are PAST the pain. What Pain is clogged in, is his own past, because all pain relates to a history. And... as Pain put it even himself, "I can foretell our future. It is the same as our history." He's basically reciting his own actions in destroying the village, speaking of what he'd done, as the same as what happened to his homeland.

Objectively speaking, no person feels strong or at peace when they are in pain. Within the pain, no. Past the pain, yes. You ask any person who has felt suicidal, in their lives. Would they say they felt strong? I guarantee the answer is "no".
What you are trying to say makes perfect sense because you might not know the fact that Kishimoto wrote this arc inspired from the world war and hatred in real world. So yeah, it's not the arc that resembles our world but it is in fact a reflection of ours own.
Yeah... he's a not a moron. He's doing what he can to find a solution to an absolutely unsolvable problem. There are no good answers here, because there is no actual solution. By your logic, anyone trying to bring peace to the world in any way is moronic because there is absolutely no way to do such a thing so any attempt at all is doomed to fail.
absolutely agree. any attempt at all is doomed to fail so we should sit back and relax, let them suffer. They'll get past the pain eventually, who cares about them.
"It is because pain does not breed strength. You ask any person who has felt suicidal, in their lives. Would they say they felt strong? I guarantee the answer is "no"." hmm this quote isn't right. I tried to killed myself twice so i guess i can answer your question. The answer is without pain, i wouldn't feel alive, i would be numb and dead. Because i feel pain that when i see my parents cries seeing me hurt that i wanna be better, because of pain that i learned i must get stronger for the people that i love. So when you said "pain does not breed strength" you're wrong. The lesson here with Pain in the anime that small nations needs a voice too, because they don't have the large armies, weapons or funds, yet they get trampled on by big nations. The pain they suffered created this Pain that we are seeing, he's the opposite of a dictator. Did you actually watch all Naruto or you're watching along with Suzy? because if you did watch Naruto, how can you said that knowing Nagato's story? He doesn't want the power for himself, he doesn't want every nation belongs solely to him, he wants to have them decide for them self when they have the nuke (tail beast weapon). He wants them to learn through pain and find peace themself, every nation big or small get a chance at peace. Because why big nations get the right to just put wars on small villages and have at it then left when they're done without actually helping people in that small nation to get back to their feet? this Pain, he represent those small voices that can never be heard if they don't yell loud enough. He's trying to find peace by his own way rather sitting around doing absolutely nothing but just suffer again and again. Who's to say the great nations won't fight again for some stupid reason that has nothing to do with those small nations? I rather have Pain in my real world who stand up and do something for the small people than a bunch of privilege dudes who are ignorance to people's suffering and would just look away. (i'm not an English speaker, sorry if it's bad).
Pain isn't a moron for what he did, you're acting like he didn't think this through. And besides the real world and specifically pointing at Pain he wanted the world to know and I quote "True Peace" which by his definition meant if you've seen or been through real pain, you understand the value and importance of real peace. He wanted this feeling to apply to everyone.
The somewhat tiny bit of peace in the real world is also due to fear. The only reason large scale wars do not happen anymore is because there are too many nukes(even then there are conflicts happening around the world). In the show Pain is trying to create those "nukes".

Hey Suzy I still got an e-mail receipt saying I paid, but when I checked my bank account I didn't see the charge anywhere. Paid for it again, fingers crossed it doesn't double-charge me but I think your system must've emailed the receipt without charging the first time.
