Specifically the Jiraiya Shinobi handbook: The tale of naruto the hero, Infinitie Tsukoyomi fillers and yes In Naruto's Footsteps: The Friends' Paths arc. All 3 of these arcs serve no purpose but to stall the main story and most are related to OG naruto again. How many damn times do we have to see OG naruto in filler. Its obvously because of the intensity of the main canon, the studio can't do anything for the present story so they have to flashback and incert some random filler arc. But yeah these are probably the worst in the whole series mostly because of their placement in which they kind of completly break the tension of the main story only to be sucked into an alternate relaility. Its bad enough that these are just plain terrible but it also contradicts the narative as well and introduces elements that are just so irrelevent you wonder who in gods name wrote them like the episodes about turning the tailed beasts into these pokemon characters.

Some of them may be funny if you watch them on your own time but certainly not when your knee deep into the climax of the 4th world war arc.

The thing is, No matter how you slice it the war arc does Draaaaaag on even without all the filler.....that’s just a fact.

You’re right. The show is designed to be watched “as is”. And that is what makes the show inferior to the manga.

Some fillers help the story along, some are completely unnecessary (like the flashbacks in this episode), and some make the show actively worse.

Like in OG Naruto, the Idate race arc. Originally, Sasuke gets put in the Tsukuyomi, wakes up and is immediately changed and super aggressive. Makes sense with what he went through.

With the filler, Sasuke wakes up, all good. Then goes on a mission, gets knocked out again. Then wakes up super changed. This is why most people who watched the anime are like “Dang what the heck Sasuke?” But the manga makes it clear why based on hw events lined up.

And the idea that we “need constant flashy action sequences to hold their attention like children.” is wrong. One of the worst filler episodes (team guy vs fake team guy) is one of the worst fillers out there and it is non stop action.

Honestly there are many people who only watch anime series for the sake of flashy action sequences to hold their attention like children much like RTTV, The only thing that makes them worth it is their reactions to the main story because of how hype they get. Other than that they’re still like children who only prefer the action and nothing else, They don’t know the true meaning of story.

At least that filler explained why they were missing for so long. It explained why they never came back after removing the tags. I was like "If that was all filler then what were they really doing that whole time? Why didn't they come back to help after removing the tags?".

The show is designed to be watched as is, not picked apart for "manga canon" nonsense. It's 10x better if you watch it from start to finish and can pick up all the nuances.

Screw the little twerps that need constant flashy action sequences to hold their attention like children.

Suzy, If he took his mask off do you think you would recognize his face? He did take off his mask and show at least half of his face when he revealed himself to Sasuke after he killed Itachi.

Um... probably, but due to the massive change of the character, even in design, who knows if she would knew at first, unlike Deva path who was pretty obvious who he was.

No she doesn’t. The fillers in Naruto are horrible. Only reason there so many was because the anime was dangerously close to the manga. They were only made to buy time to create more manga.

Forreal! I love Naruto to death but the amount of filler and flash backs is absolutely terrible. It really pisses me off. 90% of the flashbacks arent even new information or new scenes most of them are scenes that we have seen 10 times
