To be overpowered doesn´t mean Madara is a good character... Pain is the actual example of how emphatize with an antagonist and make the story coherent. All the story of Obito and Madara is badly constructed and was only made to "continue the story" destroying all what Naruto (the anime) wanted to communicate until now. Love Naruto, but the thing may finished with Pain...

It's obvious why everyone liked madara ,how are you supposed to enjoy the anime without getting hype for the character which is strong as fuck. Everybody loved Thanos in Avengers because he was so cool and strong same goes to this anime..just enjoy the character instead of hating. No one is supporting the philosophy or ideals of madara ,but what is the point of watching anime if you don't even want to enjoy the action of antagonist characters.

Such, is the shinobi life. If one betrays the village or falls prey to the enemy, he shall be eliminated so that no harm shall come to the village. Kakashi Hatake, is a true shinobi, that operates in the darkness.

Now u can understand his PAIN
Obito gave his life to save his best friend Kakashi even gave him his Sharingan he made him promise to protect Rin.
So u can imagine later seeing the girl that he loves more than anything killed by the hand of that same best friend.
His heart was broken, something in his mind just snapped, for him it was HELL

You are supposed to like madara as a villain ...and understand what he's saying. People love pain because they don't agree with his methods but they understand his goal and motivation. Think of madara that way.

why you think that madara do that? he almost always sleeping and he said just at first minutes that they met, that he saved Obito and free to go.I'm not saying that Madara good person, but not all bad things was by his purpose.
