Ok, finished the reaction: So Bill survived in the game? I'd like to meet the hardo that says the game was better because, as somebody who never played the game, I can't possibly imagine a better story for Bill than that if he was even remotely the same kind of character. It was great.
It's absolutely one of the most romantic episodes of TV I've ever seen. These two men found love and lived a relatively safe, secure, self-sufficient life when most people in the world lived every day afraid and wondering when and where their next meal would come. They lived the post-apocalyptic dream. They even got to go out peacefully in each other's arms on their own terms after having a nice day together. In that world you really couldn't ask for more.
That "10 miles west of Boston" bit near the beginning is...bothersome to a lot of us people from the Boston area.
There's no mountains visible from that area. Esepcially nothing like that. What you see in that scene is the Canadian Rockies (they filmed most of the show in Alberta, Canada....like 2000 miles from Boston)
You might see like..some hills? Maybe? On an exceptionally clear day from a very high vantage point *maybe* you'll see the beginning of the Berkshire mountains? Incredibly unlikely, though.
I guess what bothers us/me most is just...how hard would it have been to have digitally painted out he *huge-ass mountains* in the background? XD
