I cheered for Kira when I watched the anime for the first time because I hate crime and I hate criminals, I just don't like it when he uses people. Light managed to stop wars and reduce world crime by more than 70%, so how would I be able to dislike him for that?
Cause he is ruling through fear and danger of dying? he kills any criminal by his own decision alone, and kills whoever dares to oppose him, even if the person isnt a criminal and uses whoever he can to get what he wants

What gives him the right to act has a god and decide who lives and who dies?

He lives under the illusion that he is doing justice, but he is just an evil monster in the end, a murderer who was given the power of a god

What gives the government the right to choose who lives and dies? Think about that
We elect the government. The fact that it is multiple people who rely on people's votes means that the actions are very likely to be less impulsive. You're saying a dictatorship and government with checks are the same thing,

"Cause he is ruling through fear and danger of dying?" WOW you described every government in the world buddy, congrats.

"even if the person isnt a criminal and uses whoever he can to get what he wants"
WOW that's looks like EVERY government in the world =0

well, if these people just stop paying taxes, what the government will do? kill them or put them in prision. that's how governments work.
I know your country is consumed by criminals (as you've said in another comment) and I'm sorry for that. But many people in a lot of countries, even if they have to pay taxes, don't really have to look over their shoulder that much for the government to kill them. (and being put in prison is at least undoable and can be compensated in some way).

Taxes are usually proportional to your income, and if the govt decided to raise the taxes by 10 times, there's accountability. People can criticize or fight against the government. Whereas, if Kira started killing just for his own amusement, there is no accountability on him, unless L or Near wins.

leaving aside the government issue. Light was doing the right thing by getting rid of criminals. Do you like crime? I do not like. when a person intentionally commits a crime, he should be punished, but for example in my country 90% of homicides are not solved ... Kira would be the salvior for honest people living in countries like mine, and if you don't understand this, you are ignorant
The government issue is to show that Kira's ruling by fear has way more effect on people than a government's rule. With no checks on Kira's behavior other than an L-Type character stopping him, hence why it would be undesirable in that sense.

Of course, I think criminals who intentionally commit crimes should be punished. And based on your country, I can understand that Kira would be able to produce results very fast. Thus why you would support him. I think Light is still wrong, because even if in the short-term that's what he does, there's no stopping him or one of his successors from becoming the kind of dictator that doesn't support justice and just supports himself. The type who lets criminals live if they support him, and kills good people if they disagree with him. That and the living in fear part of course. People can tell you off to Kira whenever they want, even if it's not true, and if he kills you or someone you care about, there's nothing you can do to undo it (unlike prison or a fine per se).

"if you don't understand this you are ignorant". It would definitely be ignorant to not understand your line of reasoning, but if you're the type of person who lumps in every single answer that disagrees with you as ignorant, you are ret*rded.
so killing more ppl is the solution? criminals in this case? so where is the line drawn? a kid stealing food too not starve too death? a woman driveing a car and a drunk walks infront of her and she accedently kills him? the whole issue is that kira is no more honest than those criminals allready in the early episodes and is not diffrent than the world is currently. just worse. and if you don't understand this, you my good sir are the ignorant one :)
Yeah exactly! And Kira can't really vet everyone he kills. He's likely to kill a massive amount of innocent people too and those can't be taken back, unlike with regular punishments.
why would i stop paying taxes? it have helped and helps improve my country? when i pay my taxes kids can get free education, healthcare etc. i have no interrest in not paying taxes. it helps the ones that cant pay them selfs. it helps maintain roads, pay for puplic trafic. schools, hospitals. and is an investment in my country. that i benefit from every day. and so does everyone else here. sure some benefits more than others. but lifting together. is what taxes do here.. and tbh at this point its not the gov here that punish ppl not paying taxes... and not by death or imprisonment. well maybe the later depening on the severity. also death penalty, we dont use that here.
Hum maybe because he deeply an awful person, self-obsessed and self-centered who has no clue sacrificing everyone for his own sake, including his own family, manipulating women in love with him and crushing their feelings for his purpose, pretending to like them, playing with them and using them like tools ? Or maybe because he doesn't give a shit about sacrificing the entire world just to win against his opponents, to the point where he became a devil himself, completely obnoxious, insensitive and delusional ? Maybe because he's just pure evil and has actually no quality at all except being intelligent ? He's cruel, hypocrite, greedy, power hungry, full of himself, manipulative, devious, malicious and a big ass liar. There's actually no reason to cheer for him because he's fucked up and insane.

you say that because you probably dont live in a country consumed by criminals, like i do. I already said that I don't like when he manipulates people, but his act of killing criminals is not much different than when a judge sentences a criminal to death
