I just thought, couldn’t it be possible to check people in the army for the presence of blood? White Zetsu are like plants, and we saw that they have no blood. It could also be checked from memories, with the help of friends and team members. Or some kind of jutsu. I have not seen the Zetsu use any jutsu.

I always appreciated that they didn't drag this out over many episodes. It was relatively short and sweet by Naruto standards. No long protracted battle, just a heart to heart from his father, finally forgiving each other and moving on.
