There is a difference between a bad animation and a weird one, just like there is a difference between a weird song and a boring song. I always prefer the weird side it changes from the comfort zone. At least it’s not boring, you can comeeback, watch it or listen it over and over again.

Calling this episodes animation bad is ridiculous, go and compare it to shows that really did have bad animation like Seven Deadly Sins season 3 or some of the Dragon Ball Super episodes and you'll see this episode is no where near as bad as them.

This is where animation is art. Pains face was a clear intention of the distortion to express the line he says. We must keep in mind that the voice actors watch this while delivering the lines. I imagine the VAs really felt the sight, and gave it a very proper sound. Some love it, some hate it. But thats what makes it art. And once in a while what is labeled as entertainment goes beyond to art.
