Madara really wanted to bring peace to the world, but was used by Black Zetsu to use other people who used other people to awaken Kaguya. Unfortunately, we do not know what was written on the Uchiha stone tablet before the Black Zetsu changed it, if there had been something meaningful to make peace with, Madara would have followed that path, too, but in the end he wanted to bring peace to the world, but he was used like everyone else.
Black Zetsu was basically like, "you believe everything you read? Dumbass." Its really sad honestly but again, the Uchiha's were to emotional and took things at face value to much. The only one who didnt were Itachi and Shisui. Thats why they were the best in my eyes.
Hello, everyone and Suzy! I'm from Brazil and I always see your reactions from Naruto since the episodes of Lord Orochi's fight with the Third Hokage.
My opinion is very direct and straight: Danzo is the biggest genocide, self-centered and greedy of the anime:
-he made Kabuto kill Nono, his mother and turn evil and later, be one of the great enemies in the War, bringing Madara and others from beyond;
-made Hanzo make Yahiko kill himself just to win the position of Hokage, turning Nagato into a villain and creating Akatsuki of Evil, handled by Obito; - performed tests with Orochimaru with numerous Sharingans stolen from the Uchihas and transplanted them, along with Hashirama cells, in his body;
-manipulated Yamato;
-did not help to contain the Kyuubi Attack to purposely make Minato die;
-accused the Uchiha of treason for causing the Kyuubi attack and isolated them under strict surveillance on the outskirts of the village. So, they tried to carry out the Coup d'etat, and later, to make Itachi's life hell;
-tried to kill Hiruzen;
-prevented Shisui from stopping the blow with Genjutsu Kotoamatsukami, stealing his eye, making him kill himself and giving Itachi the remaining eye. If I didn't do that, the Uchihas might still be alive;
-made Sai and his brother try to kill themselves.
But all of this would have been avoided if the worst Hokage in administration, the Third, arrested, killed, etc. him. But he is too soft.

"How did we clean up her mess the first time? Or maybe we never did?" Pretty much, hence all the White Zetsu you saw used in the war.
As for Black Zetsu, (s)he IS and has been Kaguya this entire time, her manifested will/consciousness anyway. Madara always believed Black Zetsu was HIS own will (you hear him say that during the episode even) that he was leaving behind to "guide" Obito after his natural death, but nope, Kaguya had already taken the wheel from him unknowingly.

The reason why Itachi was so hard on Sasuke is because Itachi needed him to become stronger since lord third was no longer there to protect him from Danzo and the other elders like he promised. He also wanted a very different future for Sasuke he wanted him to be a hero for the leaf as he would be the one to kill the clan killer Itachi Uchiha. Sasuke was actually very moral before finding out the truth about Itachi. Itachi in his mind was pure evil and everything he didnt want to be, so Sasuke despite abandoning the village and going with Orochimaru he remained moral he didn't want to kill anyone but Itachi. He killed Orochimaru because he thought of him as evil and he was the good fighting against that evil. That was how Itachi wanted Sasuke to live his life as a person with good strong morals fighting against evil for the greater good.
