This speech known as Pain’s cycle of hatred is one of the many reasons why he’s one of the best villains in all of anime history and easily the best in the Naruto franchise.

Not hating, just thought the double standards at play here were interesting haha. It's ok for Naruto to want revenge for Jiraiya and Kakashi and for Shikamaru to literally track down and murder Hidan and Kakuzu for revenge, and for Sasuke to hunt Itachi, but you don't condone Pain's "revenge"? Not hating, just pointing out how the Cycle of Hatred has been at play in the series since day 1.
The entire arc as Pain has been killing and destroying, we're set up to hate him and want him dead only for all those feelings to be called out by Pain himself. Great writing on Kishimoto's part, this is where Naruto peaked IMO.

Pain is definitely one of my all time favorite villains I've experienced.

Notice how that weak frail boy is controlling multiple Pains at once, now imagine if he took all their power and used it for himself
