The author wasnt being lazy, its just that they started the anime pretty early. Since episodes cover like 3 weeks worth of the manga, the anime kept getting close to catching up to the manga. And if the anime and manga were at the same point, it meant less ppl would wanna pay to read the manga when they could wait for the anime to broadcast for free on TV. So they added alot of filler to let the manga race ahead. If people couldnt stand filler, they would have to go out and pay for the manga. It was basically a marketing scheme

Suzy said Shikamaru knows Hidan need just a drop pf blood, and it does not make any sense, in the last episode she also say Shikamaru already 200 steps ahead of plans, I mean, Suzy had short term memory or what, she even watch this back to back,

Lazy ? This is Naruto we're talking about, not HunterxHunter, every time they come to fill stuff in, it's because the anime episodes got too close to the manga episodes and they had to delay some to give way for the manga to move on first, so that they have enough canon content to animate otherwise fillers after each episode is gonna ruin the tone.
These studio learn a lot from Fullmetal Alchemist and Sailormoon, they don't want make alternate ending and then reboot it, it's too long,

I would say skip the fillers but at the same time we get 3 tails,teenage kakashi, and naruto learns a new move that's just too much things to skip

The Mangaka (writer) was on schedule. The anime (like most) each episode is 2-4 chapters in length, so it is inevitable that it catches up.

BTW Suzy don't skip filler episode 119 and 120 next. You're in for a treat!

Masashi Kishimoto was actually pretty consistent about releasing chapters (manga) per week when the series was still going on. I remember him saying during an interview that he's having death threats if he's going to take a break LMFAO(crazy fans) which he rarely take breaks. Its just that animation will include few episodes in one anime episode most of the time. Mostly everyone was demanding back int the day remember Naruto was on the number 1 spot for a long time. PS there are great fillers and boring ones too.

Would also like to point out, that while the manga was releasing weekly, so was the anime. And 21-ish minute animes can cover much more than 30 pages of manga if paced regularly. Animes today now run for about 1 season a year. It's much easier to manage that.

The manga started in 1997. The author was probably getting tired. When Naruto first started it was like almost 30 pages long each chapter, every week. By the time it got to where we are now in the manga, it was like 17. Then it was sometimes as low as 14 pages. The art also got more simple. After the next canon arc (which happens to be my favorite) he started thinking about how to end the series.

It's why Boruto is not even by the same author.

The manga writer was already ahead of this arc when they were animating it... The writer for naruto doesnt really have a say for the anime so basically the anime studio were just making originals even though they had a lot of manga content

Not even sure what some of you guys are even on to anymore.... The fillers are for the most part good and completley fine and flesh out a lot of the world. Just the very fact of them being fillers doesn't make them bad. Seriously....

If you don't want to watch the filler just skip it. Most people would rather you do that anyway. I personally don't care either way.
